Glass. that’s whay my bones are made of. When I was a kid, maybe 5 or 6 I went to a carnival with my mom, and I really wanted to go on a spinning ride that while it spun around, little domes shaped like fruit you would sit in, would spin as well, but my mom wouldn’t let me because she nwe I’d reak something. I tried to ignore the ride, usually we just play the games and don’t go on any rides, but that day I wanted to go on a ride more than ever, I juust wanted to go on the ride and have fun like a normal kid, but I knew that she was right, and I’d break something, so I devised a plan so I could go on the ride and stay safe. Since all I did was play the games whenever we went to carnivals and theme parks, I got quite good at them, so I quickly won 3 stuffed animals the size of me, then I waited until me and my mom walked through a big crowd of people, then bolted for the ride as fast as possible. Luckily there weren’t that many people getting on the ride so I didn’t have to wait, I quickly got in a giant metal strawberry alone and when the employee pulled the metal bar in front of me so I wouldn’t fly out of the ride I quickly put one stuffed animal on either side of me, and another one in front of me. The ride started and I looked over to see my mom looking around in the middle of the street looking for me. My plan worked flawlessly, the stuffed animals were cushioning me so I couldn’t get hurt, it was so much fun, I was yelling with joy, and while I spun around, my mom and I made direct eye contact, and the look of horror on her face should’ve told me that this was a big mistake, but I was a little kid and the most exhilarating thing I’d ever done even remotely similar to this was when I put a drop of hot sauce on my tongue. when my metal strawberry turned so I could see her again I saw she was at the front of the line and an employee had to hold her back from trying to run on the ride. I thought she was overreacting, that I was clearly safe with my stuffed animals, but when I glanced to my left I saw my stuffed animal wasn’t there anymore, I looked down and on the floor next to me there were my two stuffed animals. it felt like everything had slowed down, my smile turned into a scared frown, and when I looked up again, I saw the stuffed animal in front of me had fallen through my arms onto the floor as well, and the next time my strawberry spun, I hit my shoulder against the side and I heard it shatter and felt the searing pain well up though my body into my agonizing shriek and tears, then it threw me forward into the bar, breaking my ribs, over and over. until suddenly, I blacked out. When I woke up I was in a hospital bed with casts around almost every part of my body. after that I stuck to reading and writing.
that’s terrifying
