Brutes- a rare type of zombie. Big zombies (around 10 feet tall), unproportional body parts due to the inflammation of muscles during mutation.
They have dark or tanned rotting skin, and their bodies are swollen to the point where it looks like they have no neck. Their upper body will be the most swollen part of the body, but that doesn’t mean their legs don’t get swollen.
These zombies take longer to rot and their skin is more fresh compared to average zombies. These things are like the size of a Grizzly bear, and the head is the only weakness if you have to take it out, but taking out the legs will slow them down and make them easier to kill or escape from, if possible the best way to avoid them is to wear the zombie skin. (they have the average eyesight of a zombie but have sensitive smell and hearing (just like a grizzly bear) so if the skin isn’t fresh then they’ll know you’re not a real zombie and squash you.
even though they may seem slow and dumb, they’re very fast like a rhino, they can charge around 30mph. But they can only do this in short bursts, like a hunter they’ll walk slow but when they’re hunting they charge. If you do manage to shoot their head they won’t automatically die, they’ll be able to move and run for about 2 hours before they’ll die.Extremely dangerous. Avoid at all costs.
Pinballs- have sharp rib cage bones sticking out of them randomly, their teeth are sharp and uneven so they can’t close their mouths, some of their bones around their arms fuse together.
While looking for Pinballs to study I’ve noticed that some of them are different from each other.
Some have long and sharp bones protruding from their fingertips like a crawler but nails that are 3 times longer. Some have crab claw hands, and there are Grapplers.
(Most pinballs have different hands (ex: nail bones on one hand, and a grappling hook on the other) I’ve only ever seen 2 of the 10 pinballs I’ve seen through my life with the same mutated hands.)
Grapplers have one hand which is a weird claw with 3-6 tips, like those old claw machines with toys inside them. They can shoot these hooks at you with some muscle flesh stuff (I don’t know what to call it) attached to the end of it like an actual grappling hook and can close the hook around their target and pull things to them, I haven’t been able to get to close to these zombies so I don’t know how they do this, but I think that the weird rope part that allows them to retract their claw back to them is a stretched out piece of muscle in their arm that’s compressed near the wrist and when they flex that muscle it shoots out with the grapple attached to it, and another muscle inside the arm pulls the bone hook with the wrist attached to the hook on the end back towards them, and they have muscles in the weird wrist bones (I don’t know what their called I’m not a doctor, but they’re the small bones in your wrist) which makes them open and retract the claws which can make them grab onto things, sorta like a moving your fingers.
The only way to avoid them is to wear the zombie skin. These guys have great smell and hearing just like the brutes so make sure the skin you’re wearing is fresh. These guys are a lot more territorial than other zombies, and if a person or zombie gets too close to them, they’ll kill them. Always stay at least 100 feet away from them. If you have to fight them, the best thing to fight them with is a gun, the sound of the gun will bring a lot of attention to yourself from the other zombies in the vicinity but getting close to a pinball is too dangerous. The bones protruding out of them could easily stab or wound you, and they have incredibly fast reflexes, and a thick hide so it’s gonna take more than one stab from a knife to kill them. And just like a runner, they’ll only run if they see prey. Extremely dangerous. Avoid at all costs.
(more dangerous than brutes)
I normally wouldn’t make this segment since it’s common knowledge how a zombie infects people, but I’ve made a recent discovery that the Pinballs infect differently from other zombies. Part of me is glad to say I’m lucky enough to know that, but it’s so horrifying that I wish I never saw it.
While studying a wandering pinball while in my zombie suit I saw an unfortunate soul stumble across it, all bloody and bruised, clothes torn, and no weapons to protect himself (probably was a city gang’s prisoner who just escaped) and immediately saw the pinball. they stared at each other, like when you make eye contact with a wild animal and you’re both frozen in place, and as soon as you move, the animal runs. That’s what happened. The person slowly tried taking a step backwards and the pinball jumped onto him in 1 second (which was impressive because they were across the street from each other). The pinball pinned the person’s arms down, then injected it’s 2 foot long tongue into the person’s mouth, like how a snake strikes its prey, and the person spasmed for a second and he went limp . After 10 seconds of them sitting like that, the pinball rolled it’s tongue back in its mouth, got off the guy, and as soon as he did the guy started spasming again and his eyes rolled back in his head, but he was changing, his ribs started to distort and protrude out of his body, his teeth got longer and sharper, the muscles in his arms and legs got bigger, the bones in his arms started to elongate, and eventually ripped through the skin showing his bones fusing together to make a weird crab claw on one hand and on the other hand were huge claws. It was horrifying. I had to cut my day of studying zombies off to just take a breather, and as soon as I got home I threw up.
Mimics- Another species that’s rare among zombies are what I like to call mimics. These guys look like normal zombies but if you get close to them, they’ll take to their true forms. Their limbs stretch 3 feet longer, the skin around their joints will be torn apart and you’ll just see their muscles. Their mouth doesn’t have a jaw, so when they don’t mimic a normal zombie their mouth is just droopy skin with teeth sticking out of their lips. They have really strong muscles to make it look like they have a jaw like normal zombies.
They’ll unretract their bones out of their body, and shoot out one of their lower arms and hands attached to a long rope (actually it’s more like a tentacle because they can make it move while it’s in the air, it’s very weird) made of muscles and can use their hand as a wip. The hand will have bones protrude out of it like a little mace, but their hand can still grab onto things.
You can Identify a mimic by looking at a zombie’s joints, because as mentioned earlier the skin rips when they become their true forms since they’re so tall, so if a regular zombie has ripped skin around their joints be careful around them. You don’t need to do anything special to avoid mimics, they’re just like normal zombies so all you’ll need is zombie skin.
The zombie skin works on them, but If you need to fight them, try getting close to it so the tentacle whip thingy will be useless up close. They’re stronger than they look, and their tentacle arm’s are ridiculously strong so be careful.
